Our Tech Initiatives

About KC Tech Specs [v.08]
Since 2017, the KC Tech Council has released KC Tech Specs, a report capturing data and analysis around Kansas City’s tech industry. The report is designed to give the tech community, businesses, educators, lawmakers, civic leaders and students a consolidated, data-driven resource to find information about our region’s tech landscape. Data sources are cited on every page and feature a compilation of relevant statistics from KC Tech Council’s partners such as CompTIA and JobsEQ.
Tech enterprises rely on data to inform and drive business decisions every day. As the voice of Kansas City’s tech industry, we are proud to elevate the data within KC Tech Specs to help us collectively find the opportunities to leverage our strengths, improve our deficiencies and grow together as a tech hub of the future.

KC TechBridge
What if 100% of KC tech jobs could be filled by Kansas Citians? KC TechBridge is working with tech and recruitment leaders to do just that. Led by KC Tech Council with support from the Kauffman Foundation, the coalition is analyzing strategies to effectively build a sustainable growth plan for our city’s tech workforce.
LEGiT KC
Women face unique challenges when it comes to entering the tech world. So, to create a more innovative and diverse industry, we’re helping bridge the gender gap with LEGiT KC. This summer program gives female-identifying, upperclassman high school students the chance to embrace the world of technology through invaluable mentorship, leadership opportunities, tech exposure and career guidance.
Tech 4 Teachers
Technology-based learning helps students engage in the classroom and keep up with ever-changing tech advancements. But these expensive out-of-pocket costs often fall on teachers. Which is exactly why our team is providing K-12 classrooms throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area with tech tools to help students succeed.
Computer Science Education
Meet Cassie, our youth ambassador who loves celebrating Computer Science Education Week. She’s helping KC Tech Council teach second-grade through fifth-grade students about all the super cool tech jobs they can do when they grow up, like video game developer or data center engineer. Interested in having Cassie, or another KCTC member company, educate students on tech career paths?
